This is a template: Template-Hub Templates all go in the z_Templates folder Templates are usually triggered by pressing: Alt+E For these templates though, you MUST use the buttons provided.
The Home Tab contains buttons that are used to create new notes using the world building templates.
Important: The world building templates in this vault do not work via the usual method. You must use the buttons to create the notes. This is because Meta Bind is used to create the notes, rename the notes and move the notes. This only happens when you use the New Note Buttons.
These are a Meta-Bind Buttons. They’re defined in: Settings > Community Plugins > Button Templates
The buttons do some important things.
- Creates a note using a Templater template
- Moves the new note to ‘2-Word/Hubs’
- Changes the name of the new note to ‘NewHub’
- Opens that note
This tutorial will focus on the +Hub template.
This section is the Templater code. It was written with the help of ChatGPT. If you want to modify this code to do something else But are not a coder. ChatGPT is a handy tool.
<%* defines the start of the Templater script.
This first section basically says. When this template is triggered, check to see if the note is called ‘NewHub’. If it is, proceed.
The second part scans all the notes in ‘2-World/Regions’ and stores that list for later.
It then presents that list to the user as a choice. Basically, it’s lets the user choose the Parent Region note that this Hub will belong to.
This bit converts the users choosen note to the wiki-link format.
Next is asks the user to pick from a list of options. Basically asking the user what type of Hub this note will be.
Now the choices are written to the Properties within the new note.
MyContainer = the selected note in wiki-link format. MyCategory = the selected hub category.
This top bar is a Callout. Learn more about those using the linked page to the left.
The selector is created using a Meta-Bind Inline List Suggestor
Now we have some ITS Callouts.
It uses ITS Columns to place one callout next to another.
no-i hides the icon no-t hides the title
Inside of this we have another callout. This one uses no-title to hide the title which just makes it look cleaner.
Inside the callout is a Leaflet map. Follow the left arrow to learn more about Leaflet
Inside of this callout is Sail-Kites Tab System.
The tabs themselves contain a combination of things. Follow right to check them out.
On the right is another ITS Callout.
It uses ITS Columns to place one callout next to another.
no-i hides the icon no-t hides the title
The Templater script is complete. It is removed from the note it creates.
Hold Middle Mouse to PAN Hold Shift and Mouse Wheel In/Out to Zoom In and Out
Click an embedded with and then click the 🌐 icon to open the linked site in a new pane.
The top section in red defines the number of tabs and the names+icons that the user sees.
This section defines what is displayed in those tabs. It works from top to bottom and matches the option order per above.
Instead of embedding content directly in the notes, I have linked to sub-headings within this note.
NPCs is a heading for example and this that tab will display the content under theNPC heading.
This section is just some text, comments and Meta Bind Input Fields.
This displays the
- Person Button
This is an Obsidian Base. Embedded within the note.
Just some text.
Anything between the is a comment and wont be visible when in Reading Mode.
A Travel Calculator. See the embed to the right to learn more.
Here we have another Callout section using Sail-Kites tab system.

Each tab along here basically does the same thing.
Meta Bind Buttons allow you to trigger new notes
Then there is an embedded Obsidian Base that displays notes that need the filter rules.
This is what source mode looks like.
This is just some text so people understand the Mnemonic Framework I used.
